THE LOSS OF LIFE is always tragic.  The loss of a child's life is significantly more tragic. And there are no words adequate to describe the tragedy that occurred in Uvalde, Texas.  Yet, as tragic as the loss of those beautiful children and theire teachers is, there's a greater tragedy.  More tragic than the loss of human life is the loss of eternal life in heaven.

A RADIO HOST LAMENTED what happened in Uvalde.  He became very emotion when he described the police response.  He said with great emotion in his voice, "The police waited for 1 hour, 14 minutes and 8 seconds before entering the room where the shooter was killing children.  The police had weapons and the children were without weapons. The police had body armor and the children had no protection. The police had great treaining and the shooter was not well-trained.  But, they waited. They left the children alone with a madman.  It defies logic and it defies the training these officers had received."

A GREATER TRAGEDY is the death of a person who dies without knowing Christ as Savior. But that doesn't happen once or twice a day.  It happens hundreds, maybe thousands of time a day.  Persons not knowing of God's love for them die with no hope for eternity while Christians stand armed with the Bible (The Sword of the Spirit - Ephesians 6:17) and defended by the shield of faith (Ephesians 6:16), and helment of salvation (Ephesians 6:17).  We have all of the offensive and defensive tools needs to accomplish the important work of sharing Christ's love with others, but all too often we stand idly by. It's time for Chritians to put on the full armor of God and wage war against the Devil who seeks to take as many people to Hell with him as possible.

THE UVALDE POLIC CHIEF had an excuse.  "The Door was locked" he said and "we were looking for a key."  Well, it turns out the door was not locked. And, eve if it was, they had the tools needed to bust through that door.   Christians offer up excuses, too.  "I don't know enough."  "People won't listen."  "I don't know what to say."  Well, then learn. Get in a Bible Study. And, yes they will listen. They listen when you tell them about your family. They listen when you tell them about work. They listen when you talk about the weather. And YES, they will listen when you talk to them about your faith. Then, it's up to them to decide. But, at least you told them.

THIS IS THE WORK OF THE CHURCH and of individual Christians. Jesus said, "Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and I will be with you always until the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:18-20).  We have no greater assignment from our Lord than to share our faith.  Let's do this.
